Alan Williams
Two albums spanning nearly 30 years of musical output. Pre/post-dating the Birdsong At Morning catalog. The guitars are louder. The drumming is louder. The vocals are louder. The strings are quieter.
Birdsong At Morning
Along with compatriot’s Greg Porter and Darleen Wilson, Birdsong At Morning served as Alan’s musical outlet for a new approach to songwriting, singing, and arranging. Chamber-pop at its finest, this is where Alan truly came into his own.
Knots and Crosses
Knots and Crosses featured the fabulous songs, singing, and playing of fellow bandmembers Carol Noonan and Rick Harris. Their two self-released albums were consolidated into a “best of” by Signature Sounds several years after the band’s early 90s demise. A bright star in the Boston Americana scene, their moment came and went. But the music lives on.
Danse Real
One self-released EP from the ensemble formed at New England Conservatory (with one member walking down the block from Berklee). Longtime collaborators Greg Porter and Ben Wittman joined Alan, along with the wonderous Takaaki Masuko, Mauricio Villevecchia, and Susan Botti, all of whom have gone on to fabulous careers. Everyone starts somewhere – these folks started here.
